Magnum’s first

Museo Diocesano “Carlo Maria Martini” presents the exhibit Magnum’s First, which is the first exhibition of Magnum Photos, the most famous photo agency in the world, created between 1955 and 1956 but totally forgotten till 2006.

It was a collective exhibition, homogenous and orderly, that included eight of the most important masters of photojournalism such as: Robert Capa, Marc Riboud, Werner Bischof, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Erns Haas, Erich Lessing, Jean Marquis and Inge Morath.

Magnum’s First opened in different European cities and is presented here once again in its original set up. The exhibition has been organized in collaboration with Magnum Photos under Comune di Milano’s patronage and the support of Rinascente. Curated by Andrea Holzherr.
