MAXXI Aquila
MAXXI’s new home in the Palazzo Ardinghelli in Aquila is awaiting its inauguration, following a significant restoration after the 2009 earthquake and qualifies as cultural hub and gallery which intends to give voice to the excellence of national and international creativity. Its halls will hold works from the MAXXI Collection and temporary exhibits of art, architectural and photography, together with site-specific installation and special projects.
The building was designed by the Roman architect Francesco Fontana between 1732 and 1743.
