Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice open seven new rooms
Gallerie dell’Accademia are opening seven new rooms for the public to visit permanently.
The seven rooms, staged in the wing of the convent of Canonici Lateranensi designed by Andrea Palladio, are intended to accommodate the art protagonists from Venice and the Veneto region between the eighteen and nineteen centuries.
The staging project, conducted by Tobia Scarpa and jointly directed by himself and Renata Codello, affords a formal continuity within the important general restoration project that concerns Gallerie dell’Accademia, which is promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and proposes to bring out the extraordinary heritage collected over more than two centuries of history of the Venetian academic institution.
