Open Fence by Yuval Avital from an architectural project by Mario Milana

A 12-ton structure, 64m in length and more than 4m high, 1km of iron tubes and 320 tubular bells, Yuval Avital’s new artistic adventure takes the name of Open Fence and is the biggest sound sculpture ever realized in Italy. Starting from an iron-tube fence conceived by designer Mario Milana, multimedia artist and composer Yuval Avital, has turned this architectural object into a musical instrument to be played by anybody, whether musician or not, inviting the public to become the performer of a collective sound rite on the summer solstice day, the 21st of June, in the heart of East End Studios.
