SURROGATI an ideal love

The exhibit "Surrogati. Un amore ideale", curated by Melissa Harris, presents a selection of 42 photographic works by Jamie Diamond (Brooklyn, USA, 1983) and Elena Dorfman (Boston, USA, 1965). Both artists choose a very specific and unusual aspect of this universal theme: the emotional bond between a man and a woman and an artificial representation of the human being. J. Diamond and E. Dorfman portrayed these lifelike surrogates as desired and idealized creatures, fetish objects with their "own life" which they share with their mother, partner or even close relatives, in the flesh and bone.
